Disney's Beach Club Resort

Description: Built to resemble the "Stick-Style" architecture reminiscent of a mid-nineteenth century Newport seaside hotel, situated on the shores of the 25-acre Crescent Lake.

Points of Interest:

Aquarium: A 2,500-gallon saltwater with tropical fish and coral is located in the area that was formerly Ariel's seafood restaurant (currently used for meetings booked through Convention Services). The aquarium is custom-made of acrylic, specifically designed for Disney, and is the largest free-standing tank of its kind.

Buildings and Architectural Theming: Three-to-five story pale-blue-and-white buildings themed after the seaside wooden cottages of the 1860's and '70's. White wicker furniture and 24-foot-high ceilings, slender arched verandahs, exposed rafter tails on dormers, and wooden brackets. Seashell motif with heavy accents of ironworks, natural French limestone flooring, and bleached white woods.

Convention Center: : 73,000-square-feet of meeting space is located in the Yacht & Beach Club Convention Center, including a 36,000-square-foot ballroom that can seat up to 2,800 for dinner. Motifs are federal, i.e. stars and stripes, Americana. Design complements that of the Yacht Club which is connected to the convention center by a covered walkway. The interior of the facility is reminiscent of a grand turn-of-the-century New England Town Meeting Hall.

Stormalong Bay: : An approximate 3-acre-mini-water park reminiscent of a Nantucket Beach, belonging to both the Yach & Beach Club Resorts.

*Contains 75,000 gallons of water consisting of three related bodies of water shared by a common filtration and water treatement system:
*Active Lagoon: 13,300 sq. ft. and 500,000 gallons
*Snorkel Lagoon: 6,500 sq. ft. and 200,000 gallons
*Quiet Lagoon: 2,000 sq. ft. and 50,000 gallons
*The large grain sand at the bottom of the lagoon is imported from Arizona and is an integral part of the pool's cleansing system.

Shipwreck: According to legend, a sailor named Stormalong ran his ship aground after being caught in a fierce storm. His vessel crashed into the shoreline, creating the pools and waterways of what is now Stormalong Bay. Today, the remains of the great vessel contain a water slide encompassed by the ship's mast which extends 150 feet into the air.

*Water Slide: Length of the water slide is 230 ft. with 110 ft. enclosed in tubing.

Rooms: 583 guest rooms
